First Chatham Bank opened for business on January 23, 2002 and became the first locally owned full service commercial bank chartered in Chatham County since 1989. The majority of financial institutions in Chatham County have been acquired by large out-of-state and out-of-area bank holding companies. This has resulted in the need and demand for more personalized service backed by local decision making by bankers you know and bankers who know you. First Chatham Bank was organized by 18 local business and community leaders to meet that need. We are committed to traditional banking backed by innovative products supported by a high level of personal service.
The senior management team of First Chatham Bank has over 160 years of banking experience, most of it in Chatham County.
Brian R. Foster is the bank's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He has held numerous senior management positions during his 35-year banking career, including president of a former Savannah bank.
William M. Austin Jr. serves as the bank's Chief Operating Officer. He has over 40 years experience in personnel and operations with 30 years experience in Chatham County.
Larry M. Austin serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the bank. He has over 21 years of corporate financial experience.
Kenneth R. Farrell serves as Chief Credit Officer as well as President of First Glynn Bank. He has over 30 years of experience in the banking industry.
Michael E. Viers serves as President of First Chatham Bank. He has over 20 years of corporate, commercial, and small business lending experience.
Janice W. Woods serves as the Retail Banking Manager. She has over 23 years of experience in retail banking and small business lending.
